Rules

Don't Be A Dick
Okay, look. I'm well aware that everyone has bad days. I get it. But there is absolutely no excuse for engaging in hate speech, or promoting a toxic atmosphere in the game or in public spaces. Talk to each other like the adults that we are. Try to resolve it on your own, but if that doesn't work, I'm available to mediate. See the Mod Contact page for information on how to contact the mods.

IC =/= OOC
It's as the tin says. The character can be Lucifer himself, but the player could be the sweetest person in existence. Seriously, a character does not make the mun, or vice versa.

Be 18+
While Rookshire isn't a sex game, we are sex friendly. This is a high stress situation and different characters will choose different ways of coping with that. All adult subjects should be CW'ed, but people forget. Kindly remind them, then let it drop. Seriously, drama about this isn't appreciated by anyone.

Keep Explicit Material Locked
This should be pretty common sense, but I'll throw it here just to be on the safe side. If you want your character to throw a party where there will be alcohol/drugs/sex, CW the alcohol/drugs/sex. Some people are triggered by things. On the same note, hunting logs should also be CW'ed because blood and butchering isn't everyone's cup of tea. Now, I understand that sometimes people forget, so if someone reminds you to lock/CW something, please correct it.

Stay IC
Your characters will evolve throughout the course of the game. Their thought process will change, and maybe even their way of life. That's totally normal. But extreme swings in the characterization without probable cause will be questioned. If you can explain it to my satisfaction with logged proof, sure. If not, it will count as a strike.

No Godmodding
You can write up the coolest post in the world, but unless you and the other player/mod have talked it over, you cannot write the other character's response to it. That is up to them and them alone.

Don't Be Meta
OOC knowledge cannot be used IC. OOC, you might know the answer to a riddle/puzzle, but if your character wouldn't be able to figure it out, please don't be a jerk and solve it anyway. Now, that isn't to say that there aren't backwards ways for those characters to figure things out, but you're gunna have to work for it and keep it IC in the process.

ACTIVITY CHECKS ARE MANDATORY
The AC requirement is one of the following:
- Ten comments
OR
- One log + five comments
If you have been on hiatus for at least a week, you are exempt of AC for the month. If you cannot meet the AC requirements for a month, you will earn a strike.

All Player Characters Must Maintain a Permissions Page
Due to the nature of the game it can be hard to keep track of each other's limits and triggers. To avoid this, all players are required to have an easy to find and up-to-date page on their journal that explains what they are and are not willing to participate in.

IC Actions = IC Consequences
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Okay, so not the exact right phrase, but the thought is the same. Someone deciding to attempt to rob a store will result the police hunting them down and possibly arresting them, for example. Whether it be good action or bad action, a character will have to deal with the appropriate consequences of said actions.

Strikes
So, I have a three-strike system. Strikes are privately given and tracked, and are a warning for rule breaking. I will always try to talk about the issues privately with the player in question first, and I'll always tell you about the strike if you do earn it. The third strike results in dismissal from the game.

In the event of especially toxic or damaging behavior, such as stalking or harassment, I'm gunna skip the strike system. Refer to rule 1.

Playercesting
Don't do that, you'll go blind.
